The Last Words of Kefka from FFVI: The Most Evil...
KEFKA: I will exterminate everyone, and everything!
TERRA: People will keep rebuilding the things you take from them.
KEFKA: Then I’ll destroy those too. Why do people rebuild things they know are going to be destroyed? Why do people cling to life when they know they can’t live forever? Think how meaningless each of your lives is!
TERRA: It’s not the net result of one’s life that is important. It’s the day-to-day concerns, the personal victories, and the celebration of life…and love! It’s enough if people are able to experience the joy that each day can bring!
KEFKA: And have you found your “joy”, in this nearly dead world of ours?
ALL-CHARACTERS: Yes! (As each recounts their personal progression throughout the game)
KEFKA: This is sickening… You sound like chapters from a self-help booklet! Prepare yourselves! Now, for my next trick, I will make you all…disappear! I will destroy everything… I will create a monument to non-existence!
TERRA: Life will go on, there will always be people, and dreams.
KEFKA: No! I will hunt them down. I will destroy it all! Destroy! Destroy! Destroy!!
LOCKE: We will not allow you to harm another living thing.
KEFKA: Hee, hee, hee!! But what fun is destruction if no “precious” lives are lost!

Greenspan was referring to big banks in reference to the damage they could cause to America if they fail, but its a chilling thought to apply this to America in reference to the damage we could cause to the world if we fail. Whose irresponsibility can we pin the banking crisis on? And consequently, whose irresponsibility can we pin America’s financial position on? Everyone was irresponsible...
One of the most chilling ending lines of any movie...
Leavitt: Fleury. Tell me what you whispered to Janet, in the briefing, to get her to stop crying about Fran, you know, before all this, before we even got airborne. What'd you say to her?
Iraqi Aunt: Tell me, what did your grandfather whisper in your ear before he died?
Leavitt: You remember?
Fleury: I told her we were gonna kill 'em all.
15-Year-Old Iraqi Grandson: Don't fear them, my child. We are going to kill them all.

Q: How many Obama voters does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: None. Hoping that it would change is quite enough.
Q: How many autoworkers does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: 17 at GM, Ford and Chrysler; 1 at Honda, Hyundai and Toyota.
Q: How many Cubans does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: There have been no lightbulbs since the USSR collapsed.
Q: How many North Koreans does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: What’s a lightbulb?
Q: How many Oprah Winfrey fans does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: The bulb’s not so light these days.

BAM! Maybe fear isn’t quite the right word to use in all of those cases, but its always surprising to actually glean some wisdom from an enter-your-name-and-we’ll-read-your-personality website.

Dear Facebook
What’s on my mind? Really? Every single time I log in you ask me the same personal question? Facebook, you have no sense of boundaries. Maybe I want to know what’s on Facebook’s mind every once in a while… Why do I always have to be the chatty one? I feel like I don’t even know you Facebook, even though we’ve been together for so long… I can’t live...

So that problem that I was feeling ended up being a little bigger than I thought…
I’m feeling problems that don’t exist. When I drift off in sleep and naps I get filled with anxiety from searching for solutions to problems that I don’t have. So naturally solutions never come and I’m just left bewildered when I wake up. This will stop with some purposeful meditation on the subject, but I am still mystified as to the source of this discontent. Eh, I guess...
Displacement
I feel displaced. The feeling of being displaced from a familiar place to a new one isn’t new to me and isn’t a big deal, but currently I feel displaced from everywhere; ultimately and completely. I feel like this is a result from not putting enough stock in one place and spreading my “home” in a line all the way across the US starting with my friends at the University of...
Purpose
All the time, in everything we do or read or think about, the big question “so what?” comes up, or should come up. Upon analysis, motivation should be one of the first things considered as a separated aspect of a thought or deed. What importance does an action have without the knowledge of its intended purpose? Some would argue that the intended purpose holds no importance seeing as it...

Sooooo...
Who the hell ever wants to page someone when they are trying to leave a voicemail? Is there really anyone out there who ever wants to do that? If so, they can go curbstomp themselves and then fall off a cliff because they are the reason that I must waste an extra five seconds every time I want to leave someone a message but have to hear first that pressing the number one on my keypad will allow me...
Have you ever been writing ‘haha’s but then looked at them again and decided to delete a couple of the ‘ha’s off the end because whatever it was you were laughing about wasn’t actually quite that funny? I have, hahaha(ha).

Where is my mind?
So I don’t normally have significant dreams or feel that they are even slightly significant very often, but the last two nights I have had very vivid dreams about being in relationships with different girls. It is a fact I don’t hide that I prefer loving someone over not loving someone, but it’s more of a recent development that it seems to have become a need more than a fancy. A lot...

Quirks
So everyone has their random turnons when it comes to the opposite sex, specific attractions that aren’t really considered to be given attributes of hotness. I’ll speak in reference of girls even though the idea goes both ways. Widely accepted attraction attributes include nice boobs, fit/thin body, pretty face, nice butt, a foreign accent, and smile among other things and of course...
My Life is Fine
I’m well.
Just fine.
For the moment and the immediately forseeable future, I have no serious complaints.
Is being content really my aim though? or more importantly, should it be?
I tend to look to my future for direction on how I should act in the present, but if I’m always making sacrifices for my future then when am I supposed to reap my rewards? After college? When my children...

Internet is the New Tube
I finally get why the TV was called the tube. I didn’t get it before because it didn’t really affect me the same as the generation that knew life before TV (those who coined the word ‘tube’). I’m finding now though that internet is our generation’s TV, at least for some of us. At least for me. I didn’t understand the feeling of being sucked into something...

Zeitgeist. Very great documentary. Most certainly to be taken with a grain of salt, but a lot of fantastic ideas and interesting insight. Watch it!
